Young the Giant is an awesome band out of southern California who is hitting the music world hard right now. Within weeks of each other I saw them open for Incubus at Merriweather Post Pavilion and perform live at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. They have a great sound and their front man Sameer Gadhia puts on a captivatingly enthusiastic performance. Check out the video above and their eponymous debut album to see what I mean.

I don’t think we need to say much here. It has finally happened the most legendary band in the history of music is finally on iTunes. After years of speculation and work with the owners of the music rights such as record giant EMI (yes still a giant even in a falling industry) every Beatles album has been digitally remastered and is now on the iTunes store. I will only say this one time in the time that I write on Inside Thread but stop reading this post and go buy the albums, I recommend the $150 dollar box set.

The modern legend John Mayer is finally releasing his new album on November 17, entitled Battle Studies. Mayer is taking a new approach to the blues-rock album following his 2006 album Continuum. Mayer was quoted live at the Hotel CafĂ© in L.A. saying, “The album is called Battle Studies and that’s because it incorporates a lot of the lessons, a lot of the observations, and a little bit of advice. Like a handbook, like a heartbreak handbook.” His first single off of the album, Who Says, is available now on iTunes and carries guitar picking slightly reminiscent of our favorite song off of Continuum, Stop This Train. We’re excited for what should be his greatest album yet. You can pre-order it now to get it on the 17th.
