Maybe you’ve been keeping a little stubble this winter. You know, shaving every few days, letting it grow out a bit. That totally works in the winter, when even thinking of shaving makes our faces dry out. But as the summer draws near, it’s time to shave that shadow off and keep it neat. I’ve been shaving with a Shaving Cream by Anthony: Logistics for Men for about a year now, and have no complaints. Sure, it’s a little pricey, but try going back to your 3 buck drug store cream after using this for a few weeks; there’s no comparison. It has a slight peppermint scent, is infused with hops for freshness, and is loaded with eucalyptus, keeping your face smooth and relaxed. Plus, the company donates some of it’s proceeds to charities leading the fight against Prostate Cancer. Pick some up today and try it for yourself- your face will thank you.

Manual Shaving Set Pure

Something every man has in their bathroom is a razor.  But a great shave doesn’t come from just any razor.  When it comes to a razor the number of blades only determines how close the razor shaves with one stroke.  The key to a great razor is the handle.  An easy to grip, sturdy, long lasting handle is what sets a razor apart.  A great option if you’re looking for a luxurious shave is this shave set from The Art of Shaving.  The Art of Shaving took the elegant shave and made it a bit more main stream.  The set shown above is made for a manual Gillette Fusion razor blade and comes with a matching badger brush and stand. You can also buy the items separately. Razor ($100), Brush ($75), Stand ($100).  I suggest also investing in a pre-shave oil, shave cream (such as the Geo. F Trumper mentioned in previous posts), and aftershave balm for a proper shave experience.

Every well groomed gentleman should know that the best shaving creams are the kind you apply with a fine badger brush.  This Almond Shaving Cream was recommended to me by a very close friend.  It has a sweet and nutty scent and only requires a small amount to provide a rich lather.  Geo. F Trumper is a London based shave shop designed as a luxurious and relaxing establishment for a man to get a shave.  Unfortunately there are none of them in the U.S but the products like the Almond Shave Cream and other shaving accessories are available on their website.  This product is recommended for normal to dry skin so if you are someone with relatively sensitive skin I suggest trying a different product.  Overall the Geo. F Trumper array of products are plentiful and cover the entire spectrum of shave products such as brushes, razors, soaps, creams, gels, just to name a few.  If you have never heard of Geo. F Trumper (like myself up until a few days ago) I would highly suggest checking it out.

Have you ever taken a late night flight from New York to LA have time for about 4 hours of sleep and then had to be at a meeting at 9am the next morning? Well even if you haven’t there are times that you travel, and there are times that you don’t get enough sleep, but every man needs to be able to wake up the next day and go to work.  But you can’t just wake up throw on a suit and go to work with dark circles and puffiness around your eyes. That’s why GQ’s 2007 Designer of the Year, John Varvatos created his own Eye Serum.  The 1 oz. bottle contains a refreshing treatment to soothe and invigorate skin around the eyes. This gel-like serum uses caffeine, green tea, menthol and cucumber to instantly invigorate, cool and soothe tired skin around the eyes. Helps to reduce dark circles and puffiness while locking in moisture to restore skin’s suppleness.* Whether you’re a business man who travels, a student who stays up late working on papers, or if you just can’t seem to get enough sleep, I recommend you pick up this eye serum to help you get through the next day.
